Ao Nang now is a place with many tourist, but it is a good place for trips in tnis area.
You can make a 4-Island-Tour (Chicken Island, Ko Boda and Phra Nang Beach), the 5-Island-Tour (Ko Daeng, Ko Hong, Ko Bileh, Paradise Island), a trip to Phang Nga Bay, Ko Phi Phi or a Jungle Tour (Thung Tieo Naturepark).
